A Special Day at the Aviva for P7 Star Lucy!

22nd May 2026

We are incredibly proud to celebrate P7 pupil Lucy, who had a truly unforgettable experience recently when she took to the pitch at the Aviva Stadium during half-time of Ireland Women’s fantastic 54–5 victory over Scotland.

Playing with Banbridge Rugby Club against Skibreen, Lucy had the incredible honour of showcasing her skills in front of a record 31,294 crowd of thousands of rugby fans, creating memories that will last a lifetime. To step onto such an iconic stage is a dream for many young players, and Lucy embraced every moment of it with confidence, enthusiasm and her now familiar tackling skills!

This post includes videos and images from what was a very special day, capturing Lucy’s excitement, talent, and the electric atmosphere at the Aviva. It was a proud occasion not only for Lucy and her family but for our entire school community.

Lucy has been a key member of our school rugby squad this year, consistently demonstrating commitment, teamwork, and a growing skillset that marks her out as one to watch. Her dedication both on and off the pitch has been inspirational to her teammates, and this opportunity was a well-deserved reward for her hard work.

We have high hopes for Lucy’s future in the game, and we can’t wait to see where her rugby journey takes her next. If this incredible experience is anything to go by, there are many more exciting moments ahead!

Well done, Lucy — we are all so proud of you!
