Edenderry DNA on Show at the Brownlow Cup

5th Jun 2026

Our Primary 5 and Primary 6 boys joined forces to compete together in the Brownlow Cup football tournament today, representing Edenderry PS with pride.

It was an action-packed day that had everything — fight, heart, big tackles, moments of magic and skill, and some fabulous, opportunist goals!

While results didn’t fully fall in our favour, the boys demonstrated outstanding grit and determination throughout the day. They recorded hard-fought 0–0 draws against Millington PS and St Francis PS, which the boys should be very proud of. One of the standout moments came against Markethill PS, where the team showed great character to fight back from 2–0 down to earn an impressive 2–2 draw with the last kick of the ball — which felt every bit as good as a win… cue scenes!

They also gave an impressive account of themselves in a 3–1 defeat to a strong Tandragee PS side, who proved to be the strongest team in our group on the day.

It was clear to see the team growing in confidence and improving with each game. Their effort, teamwork, and willingness to work for one another never wavered.

At Edenderry PS, resilience, a can-do attitude, a never-give-up mindset, and a win-or-lose-as-a-team mentality have always been at the heart of all our success — and the boys fully lived up to those standards and expectations today.

Mr Mullan was extremely proud of the squad and the progress they showed as the tournament went on. There is certainly much more to come from this group of players.

Well done to all involved — a fantastic effort!  A big thank you also to all our parents and supporters who helped with lifts and gave the boys the encouragement they deserved from the sidelines.
