On Wednesday, we were delighted to welcome the Education Minister Mr. Paul Givan MLA, to Edenderry. The Minister, who was accompanied by Mr. Jonathan Buckley MLA, engaged in an extended question and answer session with our school council before discussing various aspects of primary education and Edenderry with Mr. Blevins and Mr. McNally, the Chairman of our Board of Governors. Our school councilors were hugely impressive. Coluncillor Peter Haire, a new member to our Board of Governors, and three Department officials also joined us. Our student council members posed some challenging questions and were insightful in their own responses, making us all very proud! A huge thank you to Mr. McClean for his ongoing work with the school council and in particular for his help to them in preparing for this visit.
During his visit the Minister also paid a flying visit to the Junior and Senior Specialist Provision classrooms.
It was a special opportunity for our school councillors and the school as a whole, and we sincerely appreciate the time that both the Minister and Mr. Buckley made in their busy schedules to visit.
