Mid Ulster Girls’ Hockey Tournament
Our girls’ hockey team enjoyed a fantastic day at Edenvilla as they took part in the Mid Ulster Primary Schools Tournament alongside 14 other schools.
In the group stages, the girls produced strong performances, securing wins against Millington (1–0), Seagoe (2–1), Donacloney (4–0) and Cookstown (5–0), with a draw against Dromore and a narrow defeat to Armstrong. Their excellent goal difference meant they finished 2nd in their group, earning a place in the semi‑final against Bocombra.
The semi‑final was one of the girls’ best displays of the year—an exciting end‑to‑end match where they worked tirelessly and created several chances, but were unfortunate to concede the only goal of the game.
This led to a 3rd/4th place play‑off against Kings Park. The girls continued to give their all in another competitive match, but two late goals saw us finish 4th overall—a brilliant achievement in such a large tournament.
Mrs Irwin is incredibly proud of how much the girls have improved throughout the year and of the determination and teamwork they showed today.
A special thank you to our kit sponsors, Bodyfit Mums and Wendy’s House Childminding, who came along to support the team today.
