P6 had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day today! We had an amazing start to our morning with a fun assembly led by Mr Willy Wonka himself. It was fantastic to see the range of characters and creativity on display across the whole school.
Both P6 classes arrived dressed as their favourite book characters, filling the classrooms and school with colour and excitement. We shared our favourite books, enjoyed listening to our teachers read aloud, and took part in a fun quiz filled with the stories and characters we love. We also had a few ‘Drop Everything and Read’ moments scattered throughout the day, giving everyone the chance to pause, relax, and enjoy a quiet moment with a book.
A huge thank you to our parents and families for the brilliant support — the costumes were fantastic — and to the PTA for a wonderful week of excitement, including the sale of Wonka Bars and the chance to discover Gold, Silver and Bronze prize-winning tickets.
The children looked fabulous, and the staff had a wonderful day too, all inspired by the magical, transformative power of books and reading.
