P7 Glasgow Residential – Day Three and Homeward Bound

15th May 2026

Our final day began with some tired faces, breakfast and the loading of our suitcases onto the coach, as we checked out and set off for our last big adventure. First stop: Edinburgh

The pupils enjoyed followed in the footsteps of kings and queens along the Royal Mile where we saw St Giles' Cathedral, the secret closes and the Heart of Midlothian.  Everyone had time to enjoy lunch and browse the shops, picking up a souvenir or two to remember the trip. We then visited the incredible Edinburgh Castle, soaking up the history, exploring the grounds, and taking in the stunning views over the city. We heard the famous one o'clock gun and there were lots of great questions, and plenty of photo opportunities along the way.

Then it was time to begin our journey home. With a comfort stop en-route, we made our way back to Cairnryan, checked in, and boarded the Stena Superfast once again. Dinner was enjoyed on board as we reflected on an amazing few days full of fun, learning, and laughter.

We have arrived back in Belfast and will soon be back at school, bringing a brilliant P7 residential to a close. Tired, happy, and full of fantastic memories—what a trip!

We are so proud of the children for representing the school so well throughout this special week. So many members of the public, including ferry and hotel staff complemented us on their behaviour and that means so much to us all. The restaurant staff even gave us a thank you card and some treats, calling us the best school they have had!

A huge thank you to Mr McClean, Mrs Black, Mrs Kennedy, Mr Mitchell, Miss McCullough and Mr Blevins who have given up their own family time to make sure we had this special opportunity. No doubt, there will be a few extra hours spent dozing on the sofa this weekend!
