Primary Three had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day! The classroom was full of excitement as everyone arrived dressed as their favourite book character. We spotted Hiccup, Snow White, Harry Potter, Dog Man and many more. A wonderful mix of stories brought to life!
We spent the day diving into the magical world of Julia Donaldson, one of our favourite authors. The children enjoyed reading a selection of her much loved books, with The Gruffalo being a clear favourite. We explored the story together, talked about the characters and joined in with the familiar rhymes.
One of the highlights of the day was making Gruffalo masks. The children carefully coloured, cut and assembled their masks, adding all the well known features of terrible tusks and purple prickles. They had great fun wearing their masks while retelling parts of the story and joining in Gruffalo games.
It was a day filled with creativity, imagination and a shared love of books. Primary Three truly brought the joy of reading to life, just like the Julia Donaldson’s stories do!!
