Primary 2 had a great time celebrating World Book Day! The day began with an assembly taken by our very own Willy Wonka. Our golden ticket winners were presented with a very special prize funded by our wonderful PTA (thankyou very much!) After assembly Primary 2 were surprised by some very special visitors. First, Mr Bump tumbled in to say hello, followed by the Queen of Hearts who marched in with royal confidence. Then Hermione Granger arrived sprinkling a bit of Hogwarts excitement. Miss Trunchbull also stormed through the door but thankfully Matilda was close behind to keep everything calm. Each visitor shared a wonderful story for Primary 2 to enjoy.
Throughout the day, the children also took part in Stop, Drop, and Read, where they had to pause whatever they were doing and dive into a book—anywhere, anytime! It kept everyone excited, alert, and ready to jump into a story at a moment’s notice.
To finish our celebration, Primary 2 designed their very own bookmarks featuring their favourite characters. There were magical ones, silly ones, colourful ones—and all of them showed just how much our pupils love reading.
What an unforgettable World Book Day filled with imagination, fun, and a whole lot of storytelling.
