Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club is open between 8.00 am and 8.45 am each day. The doors close at 8.20 am and all children will be expected to have completed their breakfast by 8.30 am. They will then be supervised and released to their class at 8.45 am when the school bell rings. The breakfast club is staffed by Mrs Topley, Ms Montgomery, Mrs Hawthorne and Mrs McAtarsney.
Breakfast Club bookings are made using the Bookings/Payments tab on the school app. To ensure we have sufficient income to finance the foods and the staff required the pricing structure will be as follows:
- Children in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM): £1 per session
- All other children: £2 per session
To book a place, you will need to click on the correct link and pay the correct cost. This is very important. Only parents with confirmation of School Meals Support can use the reduced FSM option. Please note that all bookings will be checked against our Education Authority FSM approved lists, so, please ensure you use the correct tab to book.
The system works very similarly to the school meals booking system. You simply select the days you wish to book, add the child’s name and class and make the payment for your booking. You should then receive a confirmation of booking.
Please note that you can book as far ahead as you wish throughout the month or school year. You do not need to book one week at a time.
Please note that for administration reasons and to ensure we have adequate food and staff in place, Breakfast Club bookings will close at 11.30 am each Friday and children cannot arrive unannounced for breakfast. The breakfast staff are also able to take any cash payments.
We have high expectations for the children’s behaviours during the Breakfast Club. Unfortunately, on a small number of previous occasions, some children have shown a lack of respect to the non-teaching staff who supervise this aspect of school life. So, it is important to note that the school reserves the right to deny entry to the Breakfast Club, if we feel a child’s behaviour is too challenging to manage. This decision will be taken by the Senior Leadership. To assist us with this and for transparency, we will be running a traffic light behaviour management system. If a child continues to misbehave after they have been asked not to, they will be moved to the amber light. If they continue to misbehave, they will be moved to the red light. We will explain to the children that if they are on the red light on a Friday, their parents/carers will be advised that they are not permitted to attend the breakfast club on the following week. I would ask you to please discuss this with your child and remind them of your own expectations of them when they are in the Breakfast Club.
