School Development Plan
3 Year School Development Plan
During the course of the school term the teachers in the school have been reviewing the 3 Year School Development Plan in conjunction with the Board of Governors. The teaching staff of the school has identified the following areas within the curriculum as focus for 2016 - 2018. These are on-going reviews of Literacy planning and practical science, and the introduction of an exciting new Numeracy resource, Izak 9, which will provide the pupils in the upper end of the school with further opportunities for practical, problem-solving maths. There will be further opportunities for pupils to meet and work together on agreed curriculum areas and the school will continue to implement the Sustrans Active Travel Scheme. Over the course of this term, all year groups and classes will have the opportunity to work alongside the pupils and staff of our Shared Education partner St. John the Baptist, Portadown.
In other areas of school life the school staff will continue to review and amend a number of Pastoral Care policies, the staff will receive training in a number of areas including Using ICT, Numeracy, Play-Based Learning and on a number of pastoral areas.
The school will continue to develop communication with parents through the E communication referred to in another item in this Newsletter, and the construction of a new website.
Further information on the School Development Plan (SDP) which is reviewed yearly by staff and governors can be obtained from the office. This will come in the form of an Abridged Review of the SDP or the full 40-page document.
