“Rock Your Socks” Day in Primary 1

21st Mar 2023

Every year on 21st March, people all around the world come together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing brightly colored, mismatched socks. 21st March is symbolic because people with Down syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome.

This year Primary One showed their support by wearing different socks and bringing in a donation for the local charity Down’s and Proud. This charity provides support to local children and their families.

We extended our learning on diversity by exploring how we are all children but can be different, just like the socks we wore today.
