Water fun in the JLSC 💦🐟

2nd Feb 2024

We have had so much fun in the month of January learning all about water.

We have learnt about the different uses of water and how to keep safe around water.

The pupils really enjoyed messy play and exploring the blue foam searching for different fish in the ocean. They also enjoyed playing with the blue coloured rice and finding the different sea creatures.

Through different science experiments, the pupils learnt about how rain falls from a cloud and they discovered different waterproof materials.

In the ABL room, the pupils all worked together to make a castle surrounded by water. They completed the challenge of including a door so they could all fit in!

Another favourite thing the pupils enjoyed was rescuing sea animals from frozen ice. They used the tools, warm water and salt to help them escape.

We also learnt about the importance of kindness through the story of the rainbow fish. The pupils used ‘Paint’ on the computer during ICT time and learnt how to change the colour of their paint to create their own ‘rainbow fish’. During literacy they also came up with their own sentences and then drew their rainbow fish.
